Cultivation of legumes rises

The cultivation of legumes becomes increasingly more interesting since some years, if it is to the fulfillment of the greening editions or within the framework of the promotion of the soybean cultivation in Germany and the animal care with native protein.

With the cultivation of e.g. soybeans, pea grains, lupins or field beans some points must be considered in the production technology, particularly in fertilization.

 

Fertilization of legumes over the leaf

In the cultivation of legumes the question frequently arises, which foliar fertilization measures can be carried out. Even if legumes are able to bind symbiotic atmospheric nitrogen,  macronutrients like potassium, phosphorus, sulphur, magnesium as well as trace nutrients like boron, molybdenum, manganese, zinc should be taken into account in the basic fertilization. The nitrogen appropriation property depends relevantly on a weighed out nutrient care, which should be given basically via soil.To promote the formation of the nodules as well as the formation of the flourish, a good potassium care is essential. The leaf quality and resistance of the plant is controlled by a good manganese and magnesium care. The protein salary can be improved by a good sulphur and potassium dose.

Foliar fertilization

If a visible lack appears on account of adverse weather conditions (e.g. cold, wet, dry) or on account of an insufficient appropriation property of nutrients, so one can fall back on the product range of Lebosol®. Also a non-visible (latent) lack leads to yield and quality losses.  For the diagnosis of nutrient lack symptoms we recommend therefore the implementation of a complex plants analysis.

With legumes a lack of molybdenum, boron and manganese is found out frequently. Here the causes might be a low pH value of the soil or bad weather conditions. The effective care of the crop with these nutrients is carried out via foliar application. In addition the following products are available to you: Lebosol®-Molybdän, Lebosol®-Bor and Lebosol®-Mangan GOLD SC. If there is a lack of macronutrients, you can  supply also via leaf. Legumes take sulphur gratefully. Here Lebosol®-Schwefel 800 SC has proved itself. The product  Lebosol®-PK-Max  will be important, if the elements phosphorus and potassium are needed, because the admission from the soil is not sufficient. Both elements have,like the Sulphur, an important function with the utilization of the self-won nitrogen.

The application of sheet fertilizers in legumes can be combined with the already planned application crossings of plant protection agents. The ideal application moment begins from 6-leaf-stage.

Decrease of stress

For the improvement of the efficiency of plants protection measures as well as for the decrease of stress (e.g. caused by weather or  by herbicides) we recommend the application of Aminosol®.
In unfavourable weather, the application of soil herbicides also leads to stress (rain after application). Here the addition of 0,4 l/ ha Herbosol® can prevent, that the active substance is shifted too quickly.
